Trash and garbage days in the Back Bay are usually on Mondays and Fridays. Heaps of warm and smelly trash litter the streets. And then get magically swept away both by stinky trucks and street cleaners. One minute the streets are gross, the next, not so much.
And in the city, you can find some pretty amazing stuff folks are throwing out. I spotted a couple of church pews once. A complete set of 8 dining room chairs, sort of the Crate and Barrel kind was sitting out in front of a brownstone on Marlboro Street. Armoires, bookshelves, IKEA-grade veneer-crud, and maybe your random collection of pillows can be found strewn along the streets of Boston.
I would have walked right past these if it weren't for the subliminal message printed on each of them. (You may need to click on the pic. to see what's written)
